Plant Workshop a Great Success

On Thursday 7th September the Burra Revegetation Group hosted a workshop at the Burra Community Nursery out near the Golf Course.

Brett and Rohan from Trees For Life talked us around a path of over 30 native plants growing out there, explaining their garden and revegetation values, their best methods and timing of propagation.

Most of the plants were smaller species for understory planting, but many were well suited to home gardens.

In the afternoon they explained about collecting seed, and the different steps in propagating the mix of Acacias, native daisies, grasses and sedges.

The event was funded by a grant from the Murray Darling Basin NRM - our NRM levies working in our community.

Despite the cold wind the group discussed the Boobialla and its propagation.
