Creek Plants

When this project started, we were often asked about 'woody weeds', that is the Pepper Trees and the Cork Elms and many more introduced species, and what we were going to 'do about them'.

Our group of six people had six different opinions, but we settled on the fact that as an Historic Town, the different species reflected different times. Our Core Funding and support came from Natural Resource Management (NRM), so we have settled on a policy that our efforts for revegetation would focus on the indigenous native species.

As a starting point we used the species list provided in the EBS Action Plan.

We have, over the course of the project, not only had other species recommended to us, but also found additional species growing naturally along the creek which are well suited to spreading further.
