Section A - Nursery to Bon Accord

The Area

This is the Northernmost section of the Burra Creek.

It flows down the valley from Mt Bryan through private land until it reaches the reserve which is on the Western side of the Burra Golf Course and the old Aberdeen Football Club and Leighton Cricket Club Oval.

It is adjacent to the Burra & Districts Dog Obedience Club and the Burra Tennis Club.

Revegetation Activities

This has 5 areas of interest for the Burra Revegetation Group as identified in the sketch map.

A1 is an area which used to be part of the old Golf Club. It has not been grazed in recent years, and hosts numerous native grasses and sedges which will be of value to the aim for the creek revegetation.

A2 & A3 are areas which host direct seeding and plantings by Greening Australia, and will in time, we hope, be a source of seed and cuttings for future propagation

A4 is an area of road reserve on the confluence of the Burra Creek from the North and one from the South West.

A5 is a section of reserve at the rear of the Bon Accord Hotel.
