Section E - Young St Bridge to Black Bridge

This section, as defined for the project includes public creek reserve and private property (in fact by Maureen and Barry, members of the revegetation group).

The land is awkward to manage as it is 'wedged' between the Morgan - Crystal Brook Highway and the creek bed and their yard. As with property adjacent to such roads, the design is largely about road safety, and its Eastern side consists of a substantial concrete wall to contain traffic, preventing vehicles from entering into a fight with the River Red Gums.

Consequently the revegetation group has been reluctant to try and negotiate the rather rough terrain it contains. Plus are in place to improve access using our improved equipment in 2017.

When it becomes  more 'civilised' we will then consider its suitability for the inclusion of a bike path and further plantings.

At the moment Barry, Maureen and Heather are doing an heroic job dealing with the weeds in the spacious creek bed.

Greening Australia undertook some planting in the area in May 2016 as part of the Native Vegetation Council funded Kaunda to Burra Project. They mostly planted native herbs and ground covers, so identifying them is difficult, especially with the weeds produced by the 2016 season.
