Section H - Mine Entrance to Motel

This is area is outstanding for our project because of the challenges it provides.

Firstly it can be viewed easily from both sides - Market Street and the bike track to the East.
Secondly when the creek runs it provides a quite complicated mix of fast flowing floodwater, and expanses of water with islands created by trees and contours.

Most of the planting along the creek has happened here over a number of years.

H1 is the old lawn by the carpark, which in turn provides us with an access track further downstream above H6 and H8 - steep slopes that we have named 'Bruce's Bank' - the stories of his lowering himself down the slope on a rope, complete with seedlings, tools and tree guards......

H4, H5 and H7 are accessed from the bike track. They host a wide variety of acacias, melaleucas and other saltbush type ground-covers

There are two lovely groves of Cork Elms between H 7 and H10, which are enjoyed by the public and especially the Kindy Kids who helped us plant in H 10 in 2016

Additionally, Burra Community Students helped us do some planting in H9 & H11
