Half an hour in Caltrop Country!

We were doing some mowing in down by Taylor St (Section B), and I broke a drive belt, so while Neil did some slashing work on the tractor I found Caltrop! Half an hour later I had half a ute load!

Caltrop has had a big year, and after a number of discussions with experts I can report that there seems to be little else to be done with it in an area like the creek is just ongoing maintenance. 

It is generally agreed that it doesn't like competition, so spraying everything out only encourages it - if we can get more native grasses and leave more acceptable weeds in its place, then I guess that's a win! 

We are going to burn it and its seeds with other things we are cleaning up when the fire ban season is over.
