Caltrop has had a big year, and after a number of discussions with experts I can report that there seems to be little else to be done with it in an area like the creek is just ongoing maintenance.
It is generally agreed that it doesn't like competition, so spraying everything out only encourages it - if we can get more native grasses and leave more acceptable weeds in its place, then I guess that's a win!
We are going to burn it and its seeds with other things we are cleaning up when the fire ban season is over.

You could burn the whole of Burra and still not be rid of it. It is rife all over Burra but only since Reece Vangastren retired Council just don't give a toss!
