This is a little patch of Austrostipa just across the road from Thamm's Garage. It is quite widespread around Burra. It grows in clumps, therefore isn't really suited to being a lawn, but is green over Summer, requires little water and as you can see is quite attractive.
In some parks and gardens it is managed by mowing in early spring, then again in Summer to allow for the seed to set, spread and germinate.
Remember every Friday afternoon at the nursery, you can help us with these and many other local species.
