We have had some wonderful help from Scotch College and Burra Community School students in the creek and the banks near the Bowling Club over the last couple of months, and we are very thankful for their energy and enthusiasm. Sometimes it is hard to remember what things looked like before the work was done. Here are 'before' and 'after' photos of the latest area.

Over the last few weeks we have some welcome help from Burra Community School students and last week we are joined by a group from Scotch College.

Along the Bike Path between Kooringa and Burra North we are starting to see flowering of the Melaleuca's and the Fragrant Saltbush, and the huge variety in the colours of the different Acacia foliage.

We have been planting more small Acacias and Saltbush along the creek, with some wonderful help from Scotch College students as well as our regular team
Following rains making nice soft clay we are gradually getting seedlings into the ground.
We started doing Revegetation work not quite ten years ago, and the results are starting to be obvious with the same view near Taylor Street (opposite Burra Showgrounds)

Rice Millet is widespread along the creek, but we dig and mow - it is hard work and even young enthusiastic people find it a challenge.
Students also did some seed collecting from the different types of saltbush down there, and then we spread some of the seed to see if we can have more babies next year - it is spreading, and is much nicer and easier to control than weeds.
Have been doing some mowing over the last few weeks (not on Fire Ban Days!) to keep the creek we look after tidy.
We have a Workshop next week to get our year off to a start!
